Animal Action Team

Partnering with Sneha’s Care in Kathmandu, Aussie Action Abroad aims to have a team on the ground working alongside their volunteers at their shelter as well as supporting more remote communities.

Sneha’s Care was established in 2015 and has been a voice for innocent animals fighting against all forms of abuse and cruelty towards animals throughout Nepal.

Our team will be supported by Bruce Poon, who has been with us since 2000 and Dr Michael Heath, an Australian Veterinarian, who volunteers his surgery services to Vets for Compassion, a volunteer organisation dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in Australia and Asia. Michael is a small animal veterinarian who has collaborated with Indian and Nepali NGO for over a decade.

Aussie Action Abroad Ltd (AAA) uses basic accommodation at all times. Depending on location and practicality, this may include camping (tents supplied), dormitories, local hostel accommodation and basic hotels.

Prior to departure, AAA supplies participants with all the information they need regarding gear, innoculations, culture & climate, etc. Detailed material will be sent on enquiry which includes an outlined program of planned activity.

Project Fundraising: Each participant is encouraged to undertake activities prior to the Expedition to raise awareness and funds for the work being undertaken by partner organisations, adding resources to their limited supply.

What will the venture involve? (*subject to change)

On arrival in Kathmandu the group will undertake an orientation program & then become involved at the Sneha’s Care Shelter. Time will be spent tending to animals, assisting outreach and conducting discussion workshops with local animal groups.

The group also plans to venture to more remote areas of the Lamjung District and whilst undertaking a trek, the group, supported by Sneha’s Care staff, will have the opportunity to provide appropriate care and support to local animals.

We will also be undertaking reconnaissance for future expeditions, scouting out
appropriate groups and activities.

A fully plant-based diet will be provided for all participants
